What We Live For

Something was missing. For the last few months, I couldn’t find the words to say... period. I thought that it was my writing that was missing, but now I realize that it was actually what I wrote about that I missed the most

See, I started this blog in April of 2012 after going through one of the toughest times of my life. We will call it my “adult” reality check. I used my blog as a sanctuary. A place of emotional release. I could pour my feelings into it. My discoveries. I wanted to talk about life, share what I knew. Find out what others had learned… so I took it to the digital abyss.

It was amazing to find that so many people were going through the same things that I was.

We were all a little scared, and shaken, and we all felt a little bruised if not broken… But there was hope. We had a dream. An idea that things could be better, or we could somehow succeed.

We just needed a little motivation. A reminder to be great.

I accepted a job yesterday at Warner Brothers Studio in scripted television. My dream of becoming a writer is within reach. I’m excited to learn all of the ins and outs of a major studio production. I’m also a little nervous. I’m not entirely sure what to expect, but that feeling didn’t outweigh my passion.

I want to tell stories, and I want to tell them well. It's my passion. What I want to do with my life. My career.

My question is, what do you want to do? What are you holding back from? Life is too short to sit back on your hands wondering if they will get dirty. You’ve got to dive in. Head first, like you’re crazy… or brave. Often the two are mistaken for one another.

I’m saying that you can do it. Whatever that thing is.

Have confidence in your life. Respect your passions. Dream as much and as big as you possibly can.

Don’t worry about whether or not you are capable of being great. A natural human instinct is to persevere. When you are in the moment and you have been faced with the unknown, you will prevail. You will always prevail. I’m not saying you won’t get knocked down, but life is all a numbers game. It’s about timing and action and you cannot waste either.

Your legacy is how you will be remembered. It’s up to you to preserve your memory. Do something remarkable. Why wouldn’t you?

No one ever regretted being great.

Take an incredible journey with me… Let’s cross boundaries and lines. Let’s do everything the hard way just for the experience… but then assess our errors to determine what the right way could be in the future. Let’s fall in love with life again.
